General InformationThis holiday is designed for groups of 7 adults with 2 accompanying co-workers. This holiday will include 4-6 days horse trekking in the Pyrenees provided by one of the many good horse centres of the area and we will accompany you. AriègeIn spring, the horse riding will be in the foothills, in autumn higher up in the mountains. Some of the nights during the trek we will stay at comfortable gates d’etape, other nights we will set up camp. The other days we will either camp or stay in our gite next to our house in Lieurac from where we will make several outings. The horse-riding centre L’Esprit de Cheval (Horse Spirit) will organise the trekking part of these holidays. They are very experienced and have worked with people with special needs before. They will ride with you a couple of hours the day before, so they learn to know you, before we set off the next day for a 4-6 day trek. One of us will accompany you on horse, the other will transport the luggage and set up camp. Sylvain Salaméro, an Equestrian Tourism guide, a riding teacher with a state diploma, assures the supervision. Of Ariégeois origin, he will share his passions with you, the mountains and the horses. He will also share his competence with you, working with young horses, riding in high mountains, harnessing, jumping and cross-country.
Stefanie Schröder also assures the supervision of the treks. She is a professional guide of Equestrian Tourism and speaks German (her mother tongue), plus fluent English and French. She thus assures the role of interpreter.

The cavalry is constituted by horses adapted to all activities. They work all year long and are perfectly trained. They can take you in high mountains, teach you how to horse ride or even introduce you to the pleasures of the harnessing or equestrian acrobatics. The majority of horses are of Mérens race, of which the department of the Ariege is the cradle.
This race has the particularity of living 6 months a year freely in the mountains from the youngest age. Their foot is sure and their skill on our Pyrenean paths will amaze you. The horses live together all year long and get on very well. Their versatility is extraordinary: from beginner to competition riders, from horseback trekking to jumping, they will fully satisfy you. TravelA co-worker will be accompanying you from the airport of departure and we will collect you from the airport of arrival with our minibus and travel from there to our destination.
