12 Day Holiday on Campsites or in Gites

General  Information

These holidays are designed for groups of 7 adults with 2 accompanying co-workers. We offer a 12-day trip, which allows us to stay in two to three very different regions of France.

Ariège

This is the area wherein we live and here we can make wonderful easy and /or exciting walks in the mountains or to the several Cathar castles and villages.

Pyrénées-Orientales

Where the mountains meet the Mediterranean. We will stay on a small campsite at the foot of Pic du Canigou and it has a swimming pool.

Aude

In this area we will visit Carcassonne, which is a fortified town, which has been beautifully restored. We found several wonderful campings. e.g next to a lake and along a river. Near Narbonne is a fantastic Safari park and we can do walks or bike rides along the Canal du Midi.

Hérault

Which is a wine growing area along the Mediterranean. We will be staying on a shaded campsite along the river Hérault, south of  the Carrigues.

Visits

The Pyrenean mountains and the Carrigues in Hérault and the Mediterranean. Prehistoric caves and caves with fantastic crystal formations, Romanesque churches, Cathar castles, village markets/festivals and in July and August a tournament in Carcassonne.

Activities

Swimming, walking, canoeing and walking with donkeys or horse riding. All activities are light.

Alternatives

1. We can also organise this holiday with gites as accommodation. We found some suitable ones in Aude, Ariège and Pyrénées-Orientales.
2. In early spring or late autumn we might go to the Provence and leave one of the other counties out. We will then be staying near the Camarque, where of course we will be enjoying flamingos, horses and the Mediterranean.

All variations are dependent on the wishes and needs of the people concerned and the weather.

This is a going to be a real French holiday; we will visit the local markets (and supermarkets too) to do our shopping and our menu will consist of typical French local food (except for snails!). As all the French do, we will have a picnic anywhere where we want, high in the mountains or along a river, with seats and tables and all. We will cook our own meals on the campsite or in the gite d’etape, but we will also go out for a few meals.

Travel

A co-worker will be accompanying you from the airport of departure and we will collect you from the airport of arrival with our minibus and travel from there to our destination.

Dates and cost

The camping trip can be between May and September and costs are max €750pp.

This trip but staying in Gites can be between April and October and costs are max €900pp.

Itinerary trips include:

• Accompanied during flight to Toulouse, Carcassonne, Montpellier or Perpignan.
• Travel with minibus in France.
• Camping and/or gites d'etape and cooking equipment.
• Food & Drinks including meals out.
• Outings and some activities.
• Photos(Printed or accessible via Internet)

Does not include:

• Flights.
• Personal Insurance.
• Special activities for more then one day.
• Sleeping bag.
• Pocket money for personal drinks and postcards etc.

Camping Equipment

We have a trailer for our cooking & camping equipment and a number of different sized tents.

Gites d’etape

They are self-catering, situated in beautiful natural surroundings and comfortable, with showers etc. Bedrooms have to be shared between some of you.

Group reduction

• 6 people 5%
• 7 people 10%

Co-worker reduction

If you bring along a co-worker, you will receive a reduction of €120. The co-worker will receive pocket money and expenses paid, including flight and personal insurance.

Season reduction

Mid or low season reduction of gite hire will be passed on to customer
